OTT Symphony No. 6

BREINER Elvis Goes Baroque
Rodney Mack, trumpet

Music fit for a king. THE King, that is. Peter Breiner’s clever blend of classical orchestration with Elvis Presley’s hits will stir some memories and leave you smiling and humming along. Rodney Mack, our own Principal Trumpet, leads us in this tribute to an American icon.
COPLAND Appalachian Spring
Aaron Copland’s quintessential masterwork depicts the unfailing optimism of a young pioneer couple starting life together in rural 19th-century Pennsylvania. Copland masterfully weaves the traditional Shaker hymn Simple Gifts into the ending of this definitive work of the 20th-century American repertoire.
