Netanel Draiblate, violin

MENDELSSOHN Violin Concerto op. 64
Netanel Draiblate, violin
Our very own Netanel Draiblate steps to center stage for Mendelssohn’s innovative concerto. Mendelssohn’s final orchestral work consists of three movements in a continuous flow and broken tradition by featuring the violin solo from the start.

George Tsontakis

TSONTAKIS, Lakonika

George Tsontakis, the recipient of our 2011–2012 Composer’s Award, will be our guest conductor for this selection from his impressive body of work.

LEOPOLD MOZART Toy Symphony
Leopold Mozart raised his famous son to appreciate joyful sounds. Return to the joy of childhood with this unique selection, whose sounds were inspired by children’s toys.
BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 8
Beethoven’s Eighth Symphony is his most compact, but he was proud of its precision and you’ll agree that he makes the most of every note. It is considered elegant and even humorous as it parodies the metronome, a recent invention at the time.
