The core purpose of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra is to enrich, entertain and educate the South Central Pennsylvania Community through unique live musical performances and to provide community engagement opportunities for students of all ages.
Since 1947, the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra has evolved from a community orchestra playing a few concerts per year into an organization of professional musicians presenting 24 yearly subscription concerts at the Fulton Opera House, plus an Audience Request series, a New Year's Eve Celebration at the American Music Theatre, and a free, outdoor community Patriotic Concert.
Our season presents international guest artists, guest conductors, pre-concert lectures and educational programs. The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra strives to present world-renowned artists performing world-class music, paired in an "Only in Lancaster" way.
