Discover the sights and sounds of symphonic music with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra!
Each spring the Music Discovery Experience presents a series of free, live concerts designed especially for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders from area public and private schools, as well as homeschoolers. In the days leading up to and following these concerts, instrument petting zoos are presented in schools to hundreds of 3rd graders who attend the performances. At these interactive events, students see and hear a brief demonstration of the instruments. Then professional teaching musicians help students try out several instruments to see which one they like best. In the fall, students who cannot afford to buy or rent instruments may borrow them through the Symphony's Gift of Music program.
Admission is free, but reservations are required and processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
