Solo Instrumental Competition and Scholarship

Developed and underwritten by the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and the Women's Symphony Association.

The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and the Women's Symphony Association partner each year to sponsor a solo Instrumental Competitions for all students who reside in Lancaster County and are US Citizens. The purpose of these competitions is to discover, encourage and reward students who display superior musical ability. The competitions are held on two levels.

The Junior Level is scheduled for Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 East Roseville Road in Lancaster.

The Senior Level will feature a two-day format on Sunday February 26, 2012 at 1:00 at the Highland Presbyterian Church. Six finalists will be chosen, with the final competition to take place Sunday, March 18, onstage at Barshinger Center for the Musical Arts on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College.
